On Wednesday, the Year 2 classes welcomed a very special guest to the library – Mary Seacole! Through the Florence Nightingale Museum, Mary Seacole dialled in to chat to the girls all about her life and adventures. The pupils learned about how she overcame challenges to pursue her dreams of helping people. Mary invited the girls to participate at various points. Together, they made medicines and recreated the stormy seas Mary experienced on her long journey from Jamaica to England. It was a lovely way to consolidate all that the girls have learned in history this half-term.
