This week, Year 3 enjoyed a wonderful poetry lesson led by a Miss Ivison. As a year group, we unpicked the vivid imagery and descriptive language in Overheard on a Saltmarsh by Harold Monro, discussing the pictures it creates in the reader’s mind and how specific word choices contribute to the mood and setting. The girls then worked collaboratively in pairs to act out the poem, bringing the language to life with fantastic enthusiasm and creativity.
A huge thank you to Miss Ivison for joining us on Tuesday, sharing her love of poetry with Year 3 and encouraging thoughtful discussion alongside a deeper appreciation of poetry!
