Sport

Sport at Francis Holland plays an important part in the life of our school; inspiring, challenging and supporting the potential of our athletes. Our overriding aim is for children to develop skills throughout their time in the Prep School and fondly remember positive experiences which will lead to a life-long love of sport.

We have dedicated outside space and gym facilities for all onsite lessons and fixtures can be played on the netball court at Francis Holland, Sloane Square. We use offsite facilities in Battersea Park for netball, football and athletics lessons for Years 3 – 6, and for swimming lessons we frequent Queen Mother’s Sport Centre in Victoria and Fulham Pools. Above all we offer a supportive environment to allow children to flourish in sport and PE, regardless of age or ability.

Our curriculum covers the following:

We offer a range of inclusive co-curricular sport, and work closely with external coaches in gymnastics, table tennis and tennis to supplement our competitive programme of sporting fixtures with other schools.

Parents are invited to spectate regularly at matches and join us in celebrating our achievements at our annual gymnastics display, open swim sessions, parent fun runs and Sports Day in Battersea Park. Most importantly, our girls are encouraged to participate in an environment where effort, commitment and improvement are rewarded.
