Parents’ Association

The Francis Holland Preparatory School Parents’ Association is the association that represents all parents and staff at Francis Holland Preparatory School.

Every new parent automatically becomes a member when their daughter joins Francis Holland Prep and their active participation in the school community is encouraged and warmly welcomed.

The overall objective of the Parents’ Association is to serve and promote the interests of the Prep School and in particular to:

  • Encourage co-operation and good relations between all those associated with the school
  • Help, improve and develop the school’s facilities through fundraising
  • Make the best use of members’ advice, abilities and voluntary help in co-curricular activities
  • Arrange fundraising and social events

Parents can participate in numerous ways from volunteering to organise or help at an event to serving on the Committee. Getting involved is a great way to meet other parents and to get to know Francis Holland better whilst making a valuable contribution to your daughter’s future.

If you are interested in helping, or just wish to find out more about us, please leave your name and details with the school office on 020 7824 5014 or email.

The Parents’ Association Committee includes a chair, treasurer and secretary as well as members representing each of the different year groups to ensure that the specific interests of the girls at the different stages of their school careers are considered.

The Committee meets once a term to discuss the wide range of issues that matter to parents, girls and staff and to arrange social and fundraising activities. The AGM is held in November and all parents are invited to attend this meeting. At the AGM new members of the Committee are voted on and parents agree how the money raised for the school should be spent. Anyone interested in joining the Committee can put themselves forward for election and their participation is greatly welcomed.

There are always opportunities to get involved in the wide range of social events and fundraising activities that take place at Francis Holland.

Throughout the year, the Parents’ Association organise:

  • Welcome drinks and coffee mornings for new parents
  • Quiz Night
  • AGM
  • Charity Bake Sales
  • Book Exchanges
  • Spring Fair
  • Summer BBQ
  • Termly second-hand uniform sales

The Parents’ Association raise funds for both the School and a variety of charities including:

Money raised for the school goes towards buying non-essential items that fall outside the usual departmental budgets but that enhance the girls’ school experience.

The School greatly appreciates parental assistance and recognises the depth and variety of skills parents have to offer both the school and the girls.

There are a number of ways you can get involved:

  • Volunteer to help with any of the events or activities organised by the Association
  • Serve as a committee member
  • Join an event’s sub committee
  • Support the many events that take place at school
