ISI Inspection Reports

We were inspected in June 2025 and Francis Holland Preparatory School met the standards in every area*.

It is particularly pleasing to see that the ISI inspectors recognised the positive and safe pupil environment that we have at FHS. Inspectors found that ‘reflective leaders ensure that pupils’ wellbeing sits at the heart of their decision making’.  The report also highlights that:

  • Children develop their communication and language skills effectively, grow in confidence and establish successful social relationships.’
  • ‘Teachers provide a challenging and appropriate curriculum across all subjects, ensuring that pupils are engaged and encouraged to think independently and show intellectual curiosity in their lessons.’
  • ‘A wide range of extra-curricular activities and meaningful off site visits enrich pupils’ experiences, promoting their social and emotional growth while helping to develop skills such as teamwork and leadership’
  • ‘Pupils develop a sense of social responsibility through leadership roles, involvement in charitable initiatives and connections with the local community.’

*The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) has a new inspection framework, and this means that both the process of inspections as well as the wording and language style of the report have changed significantly from ISI inspections carried out before Summer 2023. Schools no longer receive overall judgements such as ‘excellent’; instead, the inspectors report on whether a school meets expected ISI standards in five key areas.

Below, you will find our Inspection Report Highlights and the full report can be found here.

The ISI classified Francis Holland as ‘excellent’ in both Educational Quality and Compliance. Read the full Education Quality report here and the Compliance Report here.
