On Thursday morning, we welcomed Year 2 parents into school for breakfast with their daughters and to hear about our chosen charity for this academic year. The girls were so excited to have their parents in school, and the dining room was filled with lively conversations as parents had the opportunity to meet.

During the parent breakfast, Mrs Amin, Mrs Grossart and Miss King-Lewis shared all of the charitable work that the girls and school community are involved with throughout the year. This work includes both the fundraising and volunteering which is also a valuable, important part of charitable work. We launched this year’s school charity, BRITE Box, a charity based in Kingston who send recipe kits containing an illustrated recipe guide and all the ingredients to families so that they can cook a healthy meal on a budget. This is often focused on reaching those who have been identified by schools and youth groups as being at risk of food insecurity. BRITE Box aims to bring families together around food, building skills and confidence to enjoy cooking and eat well. Thanks to the wonderful generosity of our Year 2 parents, we raised £1,010 during our first collection for the charity at this breakfast event.

After the breakfast, parents visited the Year 2 classrooms to see their daughters’ work. Thank you to all who attended on Thursday morning. The girls were so proud to share all their hard work already this Autumn Term in their classrooms with you.
