On Thursday morning, Year 3 set off to Sea Life’s London Aquarium full of excitement, curiosity and very big smiles! After a short walk along the Southbank, we arrived at the doors of the aquarium and took our first steps into our underwater journey. We were greeted by sleek, grey sharks, gigantic turtles, fish all colours of the rainbow, and even a chocolate chip starfish!
As we meandered through the tunnels, the girls discussed the features of the different animals, linking closely to our science topic of classifying animals and plants. Were they vertebrates? Invertebrates? Mammals? Insects? A definite highlight was taking in the magic of walking through the Ocean Tunnel, with all types of aquatic animals circling and swimming around us.
It is safe to say that Year 3 left the aquarium full of wonder, awe and joy and we cannot wait to use our observations to inspire our writing in English next half term!
