On Thursday morning, Year 4 wowed their audience with a wonderful assembly all about the important topic of kindness, linking seamlessly with their learning in Friendology.
The girls spoke about the importance of kindness and shared practical ways in which we can show compassion to others as well as to ourselves. The assembly included thoughtful recitations of famous poems on this theme, alongside inspirational quotes from figures like Mother Teresa, Maya Angelou, and even Taylor Swift.
Throughout the performance, the girls impressed their audience with their confident speaking and beautiful singing. After the final applause, the girls were delighted to host their parents and carers in an open classroom event where they proudly shared and explained their work from this half term. A particular highlight was showing off the final drafts of their newspaper articles, reporting on the shocking ‘dognapping’ which just occurred in our class text, The 101 Dalmatians.
Well done Year 4 for such a fabulous assembly, with a very important message – today and every day, always choose kindness. A huge thank you also to all our parents and carers who joined us for this wonderful event.
