On Friday 9th October, 20 Francis Holland girls from Years 3 to 6 took part in the annual Falkner House Cross Country event at Battersea Park. The girls tackled challenging courses, with Year 3 running 1.2km, Year 4 1.5km, and Years 5 and 6 covering 1.8km, demonstrating resilience, perseverance and teamwork throughout the afternoon.
Every Francis Holland girl completed her race, which was a fantastic achievement. The girls showed not only grit in their own events but also exceptional team spirit. Between races, they cheered on their teammates and, in many cases, ran alongside them as spectators, offering encouragement and support during the final stages of the course. Their enthusiasm helped create a wonderful atmosphere, with several girls producing impressive sprint finishes.
There were some particularly standout performances. In the highly competitive Year 6 race, Marlena secured 2nd place, while Luisa finished 4th overall. Both girls displayed excellent resilience and smart tactical running against a strong field of competitors.
We are incredibly proud of all 20 girls for representing Francis Holland so positively and embracing the challenge of cross country. Well done to everyone who took part!
