On Tuesday morning, Lily and Morgane from TimeGivers came and delivered an assembly to girls and parents in Years 3, 4 and 5. We have been partnered with the TimeGivers charity since 2024 and the girls in Years 4, 5 and 6 take part in annual activities linked to supporting the work of this wonderful charity.
TimeGivers aims to connect young people to their community through volunteering. Their work is centred around three main pillars: social inclusion, the environment and crisis relief. Through their school partnerships, TimeGivers empowers the younger generation to voice the changes they wish to see in their communities through student-led initiatives. TimeGivers forges partnerships with local charities and organises events where young people can actively engage with these charities.
Our girls in Years 4, 5 and 6 have been involved in all three pillars of TimeGivers’ work with Year 4 promoting social inclusion by spending time with the elderly community at a local care home at Christmas; Year 5 supporting crisis relief through their work to tie dye socks for local people in need alongside Chelsea Methodist Church; and Year 6 focusing on the environmental element through creating eco-products at Thrive Garden.
We are really looking forward to continuing working alongside TimeGivers next academic year. The work they do really does make a difference. They left an important message for our girls, which matches our school values: ‘kindness doesn’t just travel in one direction… it bounces back’.
