Last Friday evening, Year 4 swapped their school uniforms for pyjamas and sleeping bags as they arrived excitedly for our much-anticipated Year 4 Sleepover. Some girls (and teachers!) fully embraced the theme by arriving already dressed for bedtime.

After setting up camp in the library, everyone enjoyed pizza in the dining hall before getting creative with bracelet making, where a surprisingly competitive level of ambition emerged amongst the teachers as well as the girls!

One of the highlights of the evening was the playground games, with a very energetic teachers vs. girls ball game leaving some staff members rather out of breath by the end (yes, that is me!). Later, everyone settled down to watch The Parent Trap before attempting to get some sleep. Despite certain rumours the next morning, one teacher firmly maintains that there was absolutely no snoring involved, but just some “slightly heavy breathing”! How dare they!

After breakfast on Saturday morning (with special thanks to Mrs Dixon for kindly making tea for all of us after staying all night!) the girls somehow still had enough energy for more playground fun, including rope skipping at 7.30am.

The girls went home tired but happy (just like the teachers!), and we have since heard reports that many enjoyed a very well-earned morning nap afterwards!

Mr Cilveti, Year 4 Class Teacher and Head of Lower KS2

“Last Friday, we had an amazing sleepover at school. We had pizza for dinner and played outside in the playground. Then we watched The Parent Trap, but only half of it. In the morning, we woke Mr Cilveti up laughing around his bed. For breakfast we ate croissants with jam and butter, and we watched the rest of the film!”

“We had so much fun during our Year 4 sleepover at school. We did loads of activities, such as bracelet making, watching a movie and setting up our own sleeping bags in the library. After bracelet making, we went out in the playground and had ice cream and cookies, and then the teachers were throwing a tennis ball really high up in the air! When our parents came to pick us up, everyone was so sad. We did not want it to come to an end!”
