Last Friday, our Year 1 and Year 2 girls enjoyed their first Foresters trip of the Summer Term.
Year 1 worked in groups to create their very own pirate ships before setting off on an exciting treasure hunt around the forest school site. They also enjoyed practising their carving skills using peelers before heading off on a nature walk after lunch, where they explored the changing season.
Year 2 linked their outdoor learning to their history topic on Captain Scott the explorer by building impressive shelters and thinking about how explorers survive in challenging environments. The girls then created nature clocks using natural materials. They finished the day by making minibeast hotels to encourage wildlife in the environment.
After such a busy day outdoors, there were definitely a few tired girls on the journey back to school!
