When did you start at FHP/FHJS?
Marlena (Head Girl): I started in Reception Reeva (Deputy Head Girl) – I started in Year 4 Aayla (Deputy Head Girl) – I started in Reception
What do you enjoy most about school?
Marlena: How teachers are easy to approach and talk to. Also the resources for subjects such as English and art.
Reeva: Whenever you get something wrong you can always talk to the teachers and they will help you correct it so you can improve.
Aayla: How many facilities there are, including a wide range of subjects.
What do you like doing outside school?
Marlena: Building anything (dens and miniature things), skiing, climbing trees, charity runs and playing the piano.
Reeva: Playing table tennis, swimming, crochet and playing the piano.
Aayla: Sewing and gymnastics, and when I’m angry I like to play the piano!
How did you feel when you were chosen to be part of the Head Girl Team?
Marlena: A little surprised as I thought there were a few other girls who would get the role. I also felt really happy.
Reeva: I felt elated.
Aayla: I was shocked and surprised.
Why did you want to be part of the Head Girl Team?
Marlena: I want to make it easier for other girls to have someone to approach, and I want to make the school even more positive.
Reeva: I want to make the school community feel like everyone is even more included.
Aayla: I want to make it an even more comfortable place for other pupils, where they have a positive attitude to learning but at the same time have fun.
What would you like to achieve this term?
M/R/A: Have a Charity Quiz, with mixed parent and pupil teams, paying £5 to enter. Have a Winter Fair to make money for charity. When raising money for charities, meet the people, learn more about the charity, and understand where the money raised is going to.
How will you support younger pupils?
M/R/A: Make it easier, for example, for a younger girl to come up to a Year 6. In fact, ensure that any girl from any year group feels comfortable approaching any other pupil.
Is there anything new you would like to introduce?
Marlena: A box of children’s newspapers in each KS2 classroom.
Reeva: A Winter Fair to help charities.
Aayla: More opportunities to raise money for charities. When I was in Malawi, I noticed people don’t even have clean water.
Describe your team in three words.
M/R/A – Positive, collaborative and creative.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Marlena: To be able to fly
Reeva: To be able to be invisible
Aayla: To be able to pause time
What message would you like to share with the school community?
M/R/A: We would like to help develop even closer relationships between staff and pupils, and not just teachers, also IT and Facilities, for example. We want pupils to have strong relationships with everyone.
