To mark Earth Day this week, the girls gathered for an assembly focused on this year’s theme, Our Power, Our Planet. We explored how our actions, however small, can make a real difference and how each of us has the power to help care for our environment through the choices we make every day.

The girls learned about inspiring environmentalists of all ages, helping them to see that anyone can speak up, take action and protect the Earth in meaningful ways. Mrs Grossart then shared the work of her brother, who has set up the first plastic recycling factory in Lombok, Indonesia. The girls were fascinated to learn how plastic waste is collected, sorted and cleaned before being transformed into useful recycled items.

The assembly concluded with a reflection on our own power and how small actions, when combined, can make a big difference. Earth Day offered a valuable opportunity to remind the girls that positive change to our planet begins with awareness and grows through action.
