Last weekend we drove the minibus up to Burton-on-Trent, to visit the home of England football, St George’s Park. The Year 6 girls who went on the trip played futsal, took part in some hydrotherapy and relaxed in the games room, just as the England teams do on their stays, who were actually arriving throughout the day on Sunday! The girls were fortunate enough to see the England Men’s Deaf National Team, and they got the captain’s autograph (Jamie Clarke, as pictured). The girls were also competing in their own tournament during the course of the weekend, where they came second in the group stages, meaning they progressed to the Cup. They all played phenomenally, finishing a very respectable fourth out of ten schools. Lots of great memories were made!
