On the last day of the first half of the Spring Term, Years 5 and 6 had a fantastic Forest School trip at Norbury Park in Surrey, putting their teamwork and problem solving skills to the test. Using only limited string, the girls designed and built their own obstacle courses, practising a range of useful knots around the beech and silver birch trees. It was brilliant to see their creativity in action as they experimented with different structures and supported one another to make their ideas work.
Alongside this, the girls took part in nature identification activities, exploring the woodland and learning to recognise common British trees, plants and wildlife. From spotting beech leaves to identifying woodland habitats, the girls showed great curiosity and enthusiasm. The forest became a hands-on classroom, giving everyone the chance to develop confidence, environmental awareness and a deeper connection to the natural world.
