Francis Holland Foresters of Years 4, 5 and 6 ventured to Norbury Park on Wednesday for their first trip of 2024. Signs of Spring were evident with lambs in neighbouring fields as well as more pronounced birdsong than on our previous trips. The girls split into groups for their morning of Bushcraft sessions which comprised Nature Identification tasks as well as constructing obstacle courses for opposing teams to conquer.
The tremendous benefit of escaping the classroom and taking the teaching and learning into the woods is becoming more apparent with each trip. The girls are reaping the rewards of collaboration, problem solving and overcoming challenges whilst being surrounded by nature.
