Last Friday, the first Francis Holland Foresters trip of the Summer Term proved a great success with the weather on our side and the girls enthused by their surroundings and an urge to explore the forest far and wide.
The carving knives came out for a whittling activity which involved creating sharpened spears, wizard wands and bows and arrows. The exercise proved engaging and therapeutic as girls focused on carving intricate designs into some of their wands. Girls were given the vote to decide whether the climate was too warm for hot chocolates and ‘s’mores’ by the campfire: a unified and passionate student voice proclaimed it simply would not be a Francis Holland Foresters trip without this sacred ritual. A wonderful trip and the perfect start to the weekend!
