On Monday, the Year 5 and 6 Francis Holland Forester girls embarked on their final trip of the academic year to Norbury Park in Surrey. The day was filled with exciting bushcraft activities that allowed the girls to connect with nature and develop new skills.
One of the highlights of the trip was whittling wood to create butter knives. The girls learned the art of safely handling knives and shaping wood to create functional and beautiful utensils. They also had the opportunity to create stunning nature mandalas using natural materials found in the forest.
The trip was a wonderful way to conclude the academic year, promoting teamwork, creativity, and an appreciation for the outdoors. To end the day on a sweet note, everyone enjoyed ice lollies in the sun, which was the perfect way to relax and unwind after a busy day.
The girls had a fantastic final trip before the Summer Holidays. We look forward to the Forest School curriculum returning in the Autumn Term for another series of bushcraft sessions and outdoor learning.
