On Monday, Year 1 headed out to Windsor Castle for a fantastic day of learning all about British Kings and Queens! Having already studied Queen Victoria in class, the girls were delighted to participate in a workshop based on her personal diaries. A particular highlight was re-enacting Queen Victoria’s coronation where the girls had the opportunity to act out the different roles, including the Ladies-in-Waiting, the Archbishop and of course, Queen Victoria herself.

The excitement continued as the girls toured the castle grounds, exploring the historic State Apartments and St George’s Chapel, where they were able to see where Queen Elizabeth II was buried. The girls particularly enjoyed heading to the Round Tower to check the flag to see if King Charles III was in residence. Unfortunately, he was not at Windsor that day but that did not spoil the fun!

The girls returned home filled with stories and exciting tales about their Royal Day out. Thank you so much to our parent volunteers who accompanied us on our trip.
