The rain was not going to get in the way of one of our most popular events – International Evening! On Wednesday afternoon, the playground was a hive of activity as we set up balloons, flags, Grecian pillars, and a whole range of sweet and savoury dishes to celebrate the diversity of our school community.

From sushi from Japan, Tim Tams from Australia and crispy potatoes with minced meat from Libya, to puffed rice and samosas from India, champagne from South Africa and S’mores from the USA, the playground was transformed into a true culinary festival with the girls, and parents, so keen to share their dishes with their friends, parents and staff. It was brilliant to hear how confidently and passionately the girls could talk about their favourite dishes from their home cultures and how delighted they were when someone complimented their food.

The array of traditional dress on display added extra colour and joy to the event and those with quizzes and additional surprises helped to educate us all about our diverse community. It is truly a highlight of our school calendar and the countdown is already on for the next one!
