The Year 3 and 4 girls had a wonderful Forest School trip, immersing themselves in nature and exploring their creativity. The day was filled with exciting activities, including bushcraft and nature identification, where they learned to spot and identify various plants, trees, and creatures. Using their observation skills, they discovered the hidden wonders of the forest, from wild garlic to woodland birds.

Inspired by their class texts, the girls built shelters reflecting their English class work. Year 3’s shelters, inspired by The Firework Maker’s Daughter, were beautifully crafted with natural materials, echoing the story’s themes of resourcefulness and imagination. Year 4’s shelters took inspiration from Stanley and Zero’s journey in Holes, with sturdy constructions that blended seamlessly into the forest surroundings. It was a fantastic day of outdoor learning and teamwork. Spring has finally sprung and the Francis Holland Foresters are excited for more sunny trips this term!
