This week, our Year 4 girls delivered a thoughtful class assembly centred on the school’s 8Cs: Commitment, Collaboration, Craftsmanship, Creativity, Compassion, Curiosity, Communication and Confidence. Through their explanations and examples, the girls demonstrated not only their understanding of these values, but also how deeply they connect to everyday life.
Each group explored one of the 8Cs and showed how it can be found beyond the classroom, drawing links to well-known books, poems, films and songs. From characters who show courage and compassion in stories, to films that celebrate teamwork and perseverance, the girls highlighted how these values help us grow as learners and as people.
A particular highlight of the assembly was the girls’ enthusiastic performance of “We’re All in This Together” from High School Musical. The song was a perfect reflection of the 8Cs, especially collaboration, communication and confidence, and beautifully conveyed the message that we achieve more when we support one another. Thank you, Miss Houlder, for always enabling the girls to have so much fun with music!
Following the assembly, parents were warmly invited into the Year 4 classrooms. The girls proudly showcased the work in their books, and they also thoroughly enjoyed guiding their parents around the rooms and, of course, showing off their always tidy desks!
It was a wonderful celebration of learning, values and community, and a moment for the girls to shine with confidence and pride in all they do.
