On Wednesday, Year 1 had a wonderful day out at the National Army Museum! The girls enjoyed a fantastic workshop where they took on the role of historians to investigate more about Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole. The workshop allowed the girls a hands-on opportunity to handle replica objects including Florence Nightingale’s iconic lamp, Mary Seacole’s pestle and mortar and they even had a few dress-up opportunities as well! On top of this, the girls excitedly explored the galleries and enjoyed embarking on a Florence and Mary trail around the museum. The girls impressed with their historical knowledge on these two significant individuals and really threw themselves into all the activities. What a brilliant day for Year 1! A huge thank you to our parent helpers who accompanied us on our trip; your support was so appreciated!
