As part of their architecture project, pupils in Year 2 explored the world of structural design by constructing their own imaginative buildings this week. Each girl drew a 2D plan of their structure and were then challenged to translate their designs into 3D models using materials including cardboard, lollipop sticks, glue, paper, and tape. This task encouraged pupils to think innovatively, creatively and develop their problem-solving skills in line with TIPS (Thinking Innovatively and Problem Solving) week. Throughout the process, the girls had to make many decisions based on how they would need to alter their plans to be able to achieve a successful three-dimensional version, making adaptations along the way. Their dynamic thinking skills were truly put to the test, and their perseverance and resilience played a key role in allowing them to construct their brilliant buildings!
