On Monday, Miss Deblue and Miss Sholem were delighted to open the lending library to pupils.
While our librarians have been hard at work ensuring that their flocks of books were roosting nicely on shelves (only to fly off them this week), anticipation among the girls has been building. In the first three days of borrowing alone, over 150 books were checked out during library lessons and breaktimes. This impressive circulation means that the heart of Chelsea’s former public library is beating once again! What’s more, it’s been lovely to see “the fairy circle” in use as girls have perched on toadstools or spread out on the green carpet with books cupped in their hands. The treehouse has, of course, also been a huge hit… We just wish we could invite the residents of The Hundred Acre Wood over for a smackerel of honey and a story.
