On Tuesday, Reception enjoyed a wonderful day out at the Postal Museum, learning how post is collected, sorted and delivered. Our visit began with an engaging maths workshop, where we completed a number of postal challenges. The girls explored number bonds, sorted objects by size and weight, identified 3D shapes, and sequenced numbers to 10.
After lunch, the fun continued in the Sorted! play area, where the girls immersed themselves in imaginative role play and discovered the many different jobs involved in running a postal service. One of the highlights of the day, however, was our journey on the historic Mail Rail, an underground railway once used to transport mail beneath London’s busy streets. During the ride, the children learned how letters, parcels and packages travelled quickly across the city and saw how the railway helped keep London’s postal service running smoothly long before modern technology.
The girls behaved beautifully throughout and clearly loved every moment. A big thank you to all the adults who supported the trip and helped make the day such a success.
