The whole school gathered on Monday for a reflective assembly to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, centred on this year’s theme, ‘Light the Darkness’. The girls learnt about the importance of remembrance and how honouring the past helps us build a kinder, more courageous future. Through focusing on hope, the girls were encouraged to think about how light, symbolising compassion and humanity, can shine even in the darkest moments of history.
The message was made especially meaningful through a focus on how our girls can be ‘the light of kindness’. They explored simple, everyday ways to show empathy, respect and support for those around them. To commemorate the event, the front of the school was lit up using electric candles placed in the windows of each classroom.
