This week we were delighted to welcome Katie from School in a Bag, to launch our Charity of the Year in a special whole-school assembly.

School in a Bag is a remarkable organisation that provides children living in poverty and disaster-affected areas with essential educational resources packed into a brightly coloured school bag. Each bag contains items such as stationery, learning materials, hygiene products, and a lunch box. These items empower children to access education and build brighter futures.

During the assembly, pupils learned about the global impact of the charity’s work and heard powerful stories of how a simple school bag can transform a child’s life. The girls were captivated and learnt that for every £25 they raise, a school bag can be packed by them and sent out to a child in need. Even better, the girls get to follow their bag by tracking it on the website and eventually see a photograph of someone receiving it!

This year the girls will be involved in a range of activities – from cake sales, carol singing, the Charity and Enterprise Fair and much more!

Now it is just a question of how much money we can raise and just how many bags we can pack! With pupil and parent power behind us the sky is the limit!
