On Monday morning, it was a joy to see a sea of bright, mismatched socks making their way into school for Odd Socks Day, marking the start of Anti-Bullying Week 2025. While wearing odd socks was great fun, our assembly encouraged the girls to reflect on what these socks represent: the inner superpowers (their unique character strengths) and the outer action powers they can use every day to ensure everyone in our school feels special, valued, and heard.
Throughout the week, in our PSHE lessons, we have been exploring how to use these powers for good and spread kindness across our community. Polly in Year 6 thought deeply about the week and has shared her thoughts:
“I think Anti-Bullying Week is really important, so I wore four crazy socks on Monday! Each one represented something important to me. One represented bravery, courage and standing up for my friends. The second one represented including people and always letting friends join games. The third represented kindness in general and cheering people up when they are sad. The final one represented sharing, not just sharing our things, but sharing our feelings and ideas too.”
