Mrs Jennie Amin, Deputy Head Staffing
I am very excited to be back in the building! FHP is a very special place, and it has been lovely to see lots of familiar faces, and meet new faces, over the last few days.
I have spent the last year on maternity leave with my husband and two daughters – Ettie is now 4 and Ottilie is 11 months. Ettie started Reception in September at a school local to where we live, so I am now experiencing school life from both sides and brushing up on my phonics! She loves ballet and martial arts, Bluey and Lego, and anything from Lilo and Stitch. Ottilie is a loveable pickle – she loves climbing stairs and blowing raspberries, but is the sweetest thing who loves a good belly laugh and is obsessed with her big sister!
This year, my Deputy role has changed slightly and has become more staffing focused. I will be continuing to work with our trainee teachers and ECTs, supporting staff with their professional development, leading our induction process and helping plan our staff INSET sessions. I am taking the lead with our maths curriculum as Head of Maths and will be teaching groups in both Year 4 and Year 5, as well as being involved in other year groups. I will also be looking after our Charity provision, with teacher helpers at every event, and will be working closely with the PSPA and be the contact for our Parent Reps.
If I have forgotten any names over the last twelve months, then I can only apologise! Please do come and say hello if you see me, and I am really looking forward to getting stuck back in this term.

Mr Andrew Hart, Deputy Head Academic
A Happy New Year to you all and I very much hope you had a super Christmas. It is wonderful to be back at FHP for 2026 and see all the girls rested and ready for the exciting term ahead.
Neither my husband nor I are from London originally, and traditionally we spend our time over the holidays seeing as much of our family and as many of our friends as possible; a rather nomadic experience driving back and forth across the UK and Ireland! We celebrated Hannukah with my family in Warwickshire and then loaded up the car with festive treats to catch the ferry to spend Christmas Day with my in-laws in Dublin. We found time for the traditional festive dip in the Irish Sea on Boxing Day (we both adore sea swimming year round) before packing our bags again to head to our cottage on the west coast of the island, near Galway, for our New Year’s Eve celebrations. The weather out west was kind to us, with bright blue skies and frosty mornings, however, the sea temperature this year on the Atlantic coast was too cold, even for us. An exceptionally chilly 4 degrees Celsius!
As the Prep moves into the Spring Term, there is a palpable sense of energy across the school! We are looking forward to an academically rigorous and vibrant few months, packed with opportunities for the girls to stretch their horizons. Our academic calendar is brimming with highlights, including the immersive celebrations of World Book Week and Science Week, alongside an exciting trip to the Globe Theatre that will bring Shakespeare’s world to life. Competitive spirit will also be high as we host the Morison Verse Poetry Competition, designed to challenge the girls’ oracy, as they learn poems they love to share with others, and the Fanny Davies Music Competition, which showcases our girls’ exceptional technical artistry.
Behind the scenes, we are entering the second year of our comprehensive curriculum audit. This initiative allows us to integrate robust pedagogical practices and latest research into our already outstanding academic framework. By combining fresh, innovative ideas with the very best of our traditional strengths, we ensure our curriculum remains both relevant and demanding. It promises to be a term of deep intellectual growth and creative discovery.
Wishing you all the very best for the term ahead.

Miss Elizabeth McLaughlin, Deputy Head Pastoral
Hello! My name is Miss McLaughlin – though the girls will know me as Miss Mac – and I’m delighted to introduce myself as your new Deputy Head Pastoral. My role will focus on ensuring that girls at Francis Holland Prep feel safe, valued, and resilient so they can flourish as happy, successful learners. It is a privilege to take on the leadership of the pastoral care that is so central to the School’s ethos.
My background covers roles in both the independent and maintained sectors, large and small settings, and even a boutique bilingual school. Having experience with children from 18 months through to Key Stage 3, I am here for every stage of the learning and personal development journey of your daughters. In the classroom this term, you will find me teaching PSHE or French across all year groups, two subjects close to my heart.
Away from school, my spare time is filled with music and dance, trips to the theatre, and the lifelong pursuit of the perfect place for tea and cake – all recommendations welcome! Not wanting to sound reminiscent of a Jane Austen character, I am a keen letter-writer and postcard-sender, embracing the written word with a dash of calligraphy whenever the moment takes me, so my signature swirls may make an appearance soon.
It has been such a pleasure to meet so many girls and families during my first week at Francis Holland Prep; I’m really looking forward to getting to know you all as the term progresses. Thank you for welcoming me so warmly to the School community!
