On Monday, Reception set off on an adventure to The Wetlands in the glorious sunshine! We began our visit with snacks in the observatory, where the girls spotted some swans and their cygnets, along with other fascinating wildlife. Then came the highlight of the morning – the minibeast safari! The girls reviewed what they knew about different bugs and had learnt about the different groups and their features. Then, equipped with our magnifying pots, we collected creatures as we discovered them in their natural habitats. Afterwards, we gathered together to share our discoveries and talk about the minibeasts we had found. Following a well-deserved break, everyone enjoyed some time in the adventure playground, where we climbed, balanced and played together in the sunshine. In the afternoon, we wandered the nature trails, taking in the sights and sounds of the wetlands. The day ended with us watching the otters, Honey and Todd, being fed, much to everyone’s delight! It was a wonderful day out and a huge thank you to all our parent helpers who joined us.
